Welcome to Admitted Students

Congratulations on your admittance to Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, the westernmost seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, a founding member of the 18-member Graduate Theological Union, and a seminary truly on the cutting edge of ministry!

Student Handbook: Our current Student Handbook is full of helpful information for new students.

Mandatory Orientation:  PLTS orientation will be August 29 to 31. International students must also be present for a special orientation August 22. A schedule will be emailed to you when it is finalized. Orientation is for all new students and their families, and includes orientation to PLTS, the GTU, Berkeley, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Fall Classes: The first day of classes is the day after Labor Day, September 2nd.

Summer Biblical Greek:  Meets from July 15 to August 23. While not required, this six week course fulfills the Greek requirement for M.Div. students and allows you to earn 6 semester hours of credit. It will free up time during the first academic year for you to take electives. More informationon this program is available here.

Housing Information:  Contact the PLTS Housing Coordinator Ed Johnson phone 510.559.2730. The priority deadline for submitting housing applications is April 15, 2011. We cannot guarantee housing after that date and housing will be assigned in the order applications are received. You can move into housing on August 15th. Students taking Summer Greek can move in on June 15th. Download a housing application.

Financial Aid:  Applications are available online at the GTU web site. It is important that you submit your application as soon as possible! The GTU deadline is March 1st.
