Certificate Programs & TEEM

Our three certificate programs are designed to meet the needs of students who are just inquiring into theological study, have already pursued graduate work in religion and theology. The Certificate of Advanced Theological Studies fullfills the Lutheran Year ELCA requirement for ordination candidates who have completed the Master of Divinity degree at a non-ELCA seminary. The TEEM certificate is a non-residential contextual education program which prepares women and men for ordained ministry.

Once admitted PLTS students are eligible to complete any of six specialized certifiates offered by the Graduate Theological Union in the following areas: Asian and Oceanic Cultures and Faith Traditions, Black Church/Africana Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Jewish Studies, Orthodox Studies, and Women's Studies in Religion.
