Joint Master of Divinity/Master of Arts
The MDiv degree and the MA degree may be earned concurrently. The student must apply separately to each program, following its respective application procedures, and must be admitted to each program. Admission to either program does not automatically admit the student to the other. This program affords interested students the opportunity to complete the requirements for both degrees in four academic years rather than five academic years. For students pursuing ordination in the ELCA an additional one year intership is required.
There is a separate application process to the GTU for the GTU Common MA portion of this degree. In addition to the application itself and two official transcripts, application materials include GRE scores, an academic statement of purpose, and 3 academic recommendations, to GTU Admissions. The GTU MA Program Handbook provides information regarding requirements, resources and policies.
Standards for Admission
Standards for admission to the joint program are identical to those that apply when applying to each program separately.
