Rev. Arthur E. Osmundson

Arthur Osmundson was a native of Superior, Wisconsin.  He married Mary Joan Heyer in December of 1944 and they raised four children.

Rev.  Osmundson studied at Portland State College, and graduated from PLTS in 1958, having done field work at Shepherd of the Hills, Berkeley, and  Grace, Richmond.  Over his ministry, he served at St. Matthew, Renton, Washington; Zion, The Dalles, Oregon; St. Mark’s, Spokane, Washington; Christ the King, Sumner, Washington; and Christ Our Savior, Anchorage, Alaska.

A 1969 Spokane newspaper article describes Rev. Osmundson’s frequent portrayal of Biblical characters from the pulpit. During one Lenten season, he portrayed, in succession, Peter, Judas, Herod, Caiaphas and Pilate.  This work was fueled by his interest in drama and he wife Jo’s facility with costumes and make-up.  Her preparing him usually took two to three hours, including home-made beards.
