Profile

The challenges facing Christian education in our church today are the same as they have always been: namely to equip and to empower the whole people of God, both lay and ordained, to embrace the Gospel life by deepening their relationship with God and by offering their lives in service to the world in which they live. Such equipping and empowerment finds its roots and dynamism primarily from ongoing engagement of mind, heart, and spirit with Jesus and the story of Jesus, in whom we come to know about God’s love for us and for the whole world in a tangible way. Thus, Christian education and lives of discipleship go hand in hand. Following our crucified and risen Lord is education about and into a way of life - a life of faith that is practiced in Christian community, grasped ever more fully by the heart, and willingly poured out in love for the sake of the world.
