Join a community of learning, worship, service, and lively social gatherings.
PLTS is located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, a culturally vibrant and diverse epicenter of intellectual and social movements. Our bustling downtown Berkeley campus, dynamic faculty, cutting-edge curriculum, closely-knit community, and membership in the multi-denominational and multi-religious Graduate Theological Union provide a unique setting for wrestling with issues of Christian faith, discipleship, and the communication of the Gospel to a world in need of truly good news.
Gatherings and events at the PLTS student apartments (The Overture), as well as social activities and student clubs funded by our Student Association, foster connection and community at PLTS. The entire community gathers on Wednesdays for coffee hour and a worship service with Communion followed by lunch together.
PLTS emphasizes a holistic, intersectional approach to care of students through a network of support, advocacy, and referral services. A dedicated Spiritual Care Team provides pastoral counseling and spiritual direction to students and their families free of charge. Students are encouraged to explore the many on-campus and local resources that support their academic and personal success as they prepare for leadership in ministry settings.
PLTS is committed to nurturing an environment where each student can thrive. PLTS is dedicated to promoting pluralism and mutual understanding of identities and cultures among its students, staff, and faculty and to addressing systemic inequities.
