About
Rev. Katy Grindberg has been an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the ELCA since 2008. A 2006 MDiv graduate of PLTS, she pursued an MA in Liturgical Studies through the Graduate Theological Union, focusing on the cross section of worship and ethic. With a specific focus on the Lord's Supper, her MA thesis is titled In Faith Toward God and In Fervent Love Toward One Another: A Lutheran Eucharistic Ethic for the 21st Century. Katy served four years as a congregational pastor, and nine years as Assistant to the Bishop before starting at PLTS in September 2020.
Katy's first career was as a Certified Athletic Trainer and she worked for 11 years at the University of Kansas. She began as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, and after two years was hired as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in the Athletics Department. For 8 years Katy was also an Instructor in the Health, Sports, and Exercise Science Department, specifically teaching courses in the Athletic Training major.
