Following the lectures, the Rev. Dr. Colleen Windham-Hughes was installed as Rector of PLTS by Bishop Jeff Johnson. CLU grad Naomi Mbise preached and Trinity Lutheran Seminary Interim Dean Rev. Dr. Rachel Wrenn presided.

On St. Matthew's Day, September 21, 1952, a worship service opened the first academic year of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. The annual Founders Day lecture typically occurs the Wednesday closest to St. Matthew's Day and features topics related to Lutheranism's particular challenges on the West Coast.

We give you thanks, O God, for the ministries of all those in the PLTS community who came together for Founders Day: students, staff, faculty, alumni, donors, partners, and friends, all part of one Body of Christ. We honor the mission of our founders and the Good News of the Gospel in all that we do. In your gracious name we pray; Amen.
