Spiritual Stagnation to Spiritual Sustainability: A Vision for a New Christian Community
Christianity has existed in its modern form for over 500 years. With globalization, technological advancements, and the 24 hour news cycle, today’s populations have access to more information and relationships than ever before. The Christianity that emerged from the Protestant Reformation was not the faith that the Reformers envisioned. We have focused more on “right” theology rather than embodied praxis that is informed by the Holy Spirit. This has led to spiritual stagnation that does not serve the needs of people today. It is time for a vision for a new Christian Community, one that aligns theology that leads to liberation, reclamation of the Imago Dei, and relationships that inspire and demand justice for all.
