Transportation

Seminarians have ready access to a variety of transportation options to get to and from campus and around the Bay Area.

Bicycle

Protected bike storage is available free of charge at a bike center just across the street from PLTS and a few yards east. There is also bike parking available at select BART stations, including the Downtown Berkeley BART station

Plan A Trip

Plan a trip using public transportation at 511.org. Primary addresses for planning a trip are the Delaware Apartments (DELS) at 1300 Delaware Street; PLTS at 2000 Center Street; GTU at 2400 Ridge Road or 2510 Le Conte (for routes with no hills to traverse).

Public Transportation

Clipper Card

A Clipper Card makes for easy access onto and transfer between AC Transit, MUNI, and BART. A Clipper Card can be purchased for a one-time cost of $3 at Walgreens (2190 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley), Target Express (2187 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley), or select BART stations (North Berkeley BART Station). Note the type of card purchased, as there are cards that are limited to BART/MUNI, which are not recommended for around the Bay travel. Once purchased, you will need to set up your Clipper Card online.

Parking

Parking at BART stations is available. EZ Rider Parking makes this easier. You can access EZ Rider Parking when you have a Clipper Card. To set up this parking option, register for EZ Rider Parking. You will receive an EZ Rider Parking pass and be able to pay for parking via your Clipper Card.

A variety of pay for parking garages can be found downtown near PLTS and a pay for parking UC Berkeley garage is located near the GTU.

Limited 2 hour street parking due to high volume of use is available near the GTU, and makes carpooling a more feasible option from the DELS to GTU and vice versa.

Disabilities Services

For persons with disabilities or a disabling health condition, East Bay Paratransit operated by AC Transit and BART will work with you to transport you to locations that are along or nearby public transportation routes, this includes the Delaware Apartments, the PLTS campus, and the GTU schools.

You will need to apply to use East Bay Paratransit for services. Please apply as soon as possible in order to ensure transit is available to you by the start of the semester.

Shared

In addition to public transportation, private or share options include:

Students are encouraged to carpool, especially to local services like grocery stores, etc.
