Rev. Carlos Paiva

We mourn the sudden death of the Rev. Carlos Paiva on November 22.  He was born in Lima, Peru, and trained in Physics and Chemistry.  His theological training was at Lutheran Bible Institute in Anaheim, PLTS and Fuller Seminary.  He was ordained in 1989.  Carlos served Iglesia Evangelica de Cristo and Iglesia Cristiana Bethel de Lince in Lima and Grace/Bell, Loving Shepherd/Gardena and Pastor Amoroso/Gardena.  His last call was to Angelica in Los Angeles, where he supervised students from PLTS and other schools in urban immersion.

The family has established the Rev. Carlos Paiva Leadership Scholarship Fund to provide grans for students in the SW California Synod Latino Equipping Leaders for Mission and the PLTS TEEM program.  Gifts in Carlos’ memory may be sent to Angelica Lutheran Church, 1345 S.
