Rev. Ogden Lee Lovdokken

June 9, 1932 to March 14, 2018

Pastor Ogden Lee Lovdokken died peacefully in his home Wednesday, March 14, 2018 ending an 85-year life serving others. After growing up in North Dakota, he joined the Navy during the Korean War. While in service, he came down with polio which left him unable to walk. Despite this, he finished college, traveled the world, became a pastor and married Mary Ann Lien. The two had four children and enjoyed 52 years together.

After graduating from PLTS in 1963, his pastoral career started at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown, South Dakota. He went on to serve Bethel Lutheran Church in Fresno, Trinity Lutheran Church in Madera and Faith Lutheran Church in Pioneer, all in California. He moved to Springfield, Oregon in 1976 where he pastored at both Springfield Lutheran Church in Springfield and Resurrection Lutheran Church in Thurston until retiring in 1998. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, daughters Patricia Lovdokken, Judith Thomas and her husband Mark. He is also survived by his son John Lovdokken and his wife Stephanie. His daughter Kristi Larson preceded him in death. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amber Larson, James Lovdokken and Colleen Lovdokken.

He is remembered for his enduring love of people and animals. He enjoyed gardening, travel and keeping informed about current events. Though his death was expected, he will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
